Why is floor paint and sealer important?

Whether you're painting a wood porch or concrete floor in your garage, paint and sealer form a protective layer that prevent water and other liquids from damaging the floor. They also limit wear and tear to extend the life of floors.

Which paint is best for floors?

The best type of paint for each floor depends on the material the floor is made of and how much durability you need. Concrete floor paint is designed to bond with concrete surfaces while general floor paint is better for wood porches and floors. Anti-slip sealers can add an extra layer of safety on outdoor concrete, patio stones, or even bathrooms.

What do you seal painted floors with?

Usually, an epoxy or polymer-based coating is used to seal floor paint. These floor sealers provide a clear finish and are very durable to provide lots of protection from spills and other accidents.

Do you have to seal floor paint?

Floor paints are generally resistant to abrasion, water and normal use, but sealing floor paint can extend the life of painted floors while protecting them from stains, chips, scrapes and other accidents.

What is the most durable paint for floors?

Oil-based, also known as 'alkyd' paints, form a thicker layer of paint that makes them more durable than other types.
