Maximize your router's abilities with our range of router bits and sets, from standard round over wing bits to straight wing bits, rabbeting bits, and much more in a variety of sizes. Whether you're joining wood, adding decorative engravings, finishing edges, or even mortising, our selection includes the bit you need.
What are the different types of router bits?
The most common router bits include:
Straight bits - these are most often used to cut square grooves into wood for making joints, mortises, and more.
Flush trim bits – these straight bits are typically used to trim overhanging material on shelves or ledges.
Rabbeting bits - these create rabbet grooves in wood for joining or fitting.
Edge-forming bits are numerous and include rounding over, ogee, and chamfer bits. Edge-forming bits are ideal for creating angled and rounded finished edges on lumber for both decorative and functional purposes.
Can you use router bits in a rotary tool?
Rotary tools don't provide as much power as routers and can't drive router bits effectively. More importantly, the 1/4 to 1/2-in shanks used on router bits can't fit most rotary tools.
