What does primer spray paint do?
Much like regular primers, spray paint primer goes on bare surfaces to create a base layer of paint that protects metal surfaces from rust. Spray primers also make sure that spray paint covers and sticks to surfaces better for long-lasting, better-looking results.
Is primer necessary for spray paint?
For quick jobs where you're not concerned about how the paint looks, how long it will last, or how well it will resist the elements, spray paint primers aren't necessary. However, if you want good looking results that last, and extra protection against rust, primer is a good option.
