The right stain remover for clothes and other fabrics can lift even the most stubborn of stains and marks.

How do stain removers work?

Most stain removing products work by using enzymes to break down organic stains like food and grass, as well as by loosening and lifting synthetic stains like grease, cosmetics and ink. Spot and stain removers utilize powerful formulas with enzymes and chemicals that break down the compounds that cause stains, lifting out stubborn residues and restoring your fabrics to like-new condition.

Do stain removers work on old stains?

For older, set-in clothing stains, look for heavy-duty stain removers with bleaching agents that can tackle discolouration and tough blemishes that won't come out in the wash. For fresh stains on clothes, start by treating them immediately with a pre-wash stain remover spray. These products can penetrate deep into fibers to break the bond between the stain and fabric before it sets.
