What are the types of hinges?

Different types of hinges are used for different types of doors, furniture and other uses. The different hinges we use every day vary from butt hinges to narrow hinges for cupboards, T-hinges, spring hinges, male corner hinges, female corner hinges, gate hinges and more.

What materials are used for hinges?

The most traditional materials used to make hinges are brass hinges, nickel-plated hinges, and zinc hinges. Some materials are stronger and more durable, while others offer better corrosion resistance.

What is the purpose of a hinge?

A hinge is designed to hold a fixed body and a moving body of material together. Whether it be for a window frame and a window, a door frame and a door, or other needs such as vehicles and enclosures.

What tools do I need to install a hinge?

To install a hinge, you will need a screwdriver or drill. But it is also recommended for you to have a measuring tape and marking chalk on hand to ensure accuracy.
