Most fabrics like wool, silk, cotton, polyester and more can be steamed. However, clothes steamers may cause damage to materials including plastic, sequence, suede, waxed jackets, velvet, etc. It’s best to read the fabric’s care label beforehand.

Can you steam clothes that say, “Do Not Iron?”

Since steamers do not directly come in contact with the fabric, some fabrics may be steamed using a low setting, but it’s advised to check the care label of the material you wish to steam clean or iron.
