Do I need to replace both my bathroom sinks and faucets when renovating?

If you’re fully renovating your bathroom, it’s worth considering replacing your sink and faucet set as well. This is because bathroom sinks wear down over time and can develop issues ranging from chipping and cracking to leaking and staining. While repairing your sink is sometimes more of an aesthetic choice, a new one might better compliment the refreshed style of your new renovation.

What are the most popular types of bathroom fixtures?

When it comes to bathroom fixtures, the most common types are single-hole faucets, center-set faucets, and widespread mounted faucets. With a single lever that includes the mixing handles and spout together, single-hole fixtures great for small, simple bathroom sink setups. Center-set faucets are another popular option and are designed to work with three-hole standard sinks, with the handles usually spaced 4 inches apart. Wall-mounted faucets work well with freestanding sinks, as they tend to have longer spouts, which are generously positioned over the bowl. Finally, widespread mounts are larger faucets that come with separate handles and a spout that can be positioned up to 10 inches apart or more.
