Is a camping cot worth it?

Camping cots are great for a good night’s sleep on any camping trip. Keeping you cool in warm weather and warm in cold weather, they offer a more comfortable way to get some rest. They can be a significant upgrade from a simple sleeping bag as they provide a surface off the hard ground for you to sleep on. Cots can be padded or include an integrated pillow and there are even bunk bed style options for kids and adults.

Can I use a cot inside a camping tent?

Cots are suitable for use inside a tent as long as protect the tent flooring. The frame or legs of the cot may wear away at the floor and eventually create holes. Adding rubber foot pads, an outdoor carpet, or foam tiles before setting up your cot will ensure that you keep your tent in good condition.

How does a camping cot compare to an air mattress?

Folding cots are effective for camping as they provide stable support for sleeping. They are made of a foldable metal frame with a nylon, polyester, canvas, or linen covering. While air mattresses may provide more space similarly to your bed at home, cots provide off-the-ground sleeping, a place to sit, and underneath storage space. They can also be taken apart for storage and don’t require an air pump. On the other hand, they can be bulky depending on the nature of your camping trip.
