The cost of replacement tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors will depend on the vehicle type. For 2008 and newer vehicles that have TPMS-equipped tires, it may cost more to maintain tires without TPMS because it takes extra parts, tools, and labour to service them.
Can I replace a TPMS myself?
You can replace a TPMS yourself if you have the right equipment to remount the tire to the wheel since replacing it requires the tire to be removed. Newer TPMS sensors are attached to the valve stem, while older sensors are attached on to the inner wheel rim. If you’re unsure about doing the job yourself, our professionals from any of our Canadian Tire Auto Service Centers can easily replace it for you.
