How does a fluid transfer pump work?

Fluid transfer pumps and siphon pumps are devices used to easily transfer liquids like engine oil, lubricants, fuel and other fluids from one container to another. Transfer pumps work by creating a pressure difference to transport fluids. Some pumps are battery-operated where it automatically pumps or transfers fuel at the push of a button and other designs require human force to move the liquids.

Can fuel pumps pump water?

Fuel transfer pumps can transport various liquids which includes water. When it comes to choosing the right fuel extractor pump, consider the type of liquid you’ll be transferring. Thinner fluids can be transported with simpler pumps, whereas thicker fluids might need special pumps.

How do you use a fluid siphon pump?

Ensure that the end of the tube is lower than the pump. To start the siphoning, submerge the pump into the liquid and being to move and shake the pump in an up and down motion. Stop moving the pump once the flow starts and keep the pump submerged.

Additional information for residents of Quebec only: The regular annual rate for persons applying for the Triangle Mastercard and the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is 21.99% for cash transactions and related fees and 21.99% for all other charges. The minimum payment is the sum of (a) the greater of: (i) interest and fees shown on your statement + $10; or (ii) 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, (b) any balance over your credit limit, (c) any amounts past due not included in (b) above, and (d) the amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due.
