Clamps are most often used to securely attach hoses to fittings, ensuring there are no leaks. Supports are used to guide pipes and hold them in place on walls and studs.

What are the types of pipe clamps and supports?

Steel hose clamps are the most common type for attaching hoses to fixtures. PEX plumbing has specific pinch clamps and crimp rings for installation. Supports include support bends to guide and secure corner pipe, strapping that can be cut to length

How do I use pipe clamps and supports?

Clamps have a tightening mechanism that can be adjusted with a screwdriver. Supports are typically drilled or nailed into place.

How do I know which pipe clamps or supports to buy?

The size of clamp you need depends on the fixture you're securing. For drains and wastewater pipes, you'll need larger clamps. For PEX plumbing, you'll need PEX-specific clamps and crimp rings. For supports, strapping is sold in lengths and fits pipes of many diameters.
