What do you need for electricity in an RV?

First, you’ll need a reliable power source, such as a generator, a shore power hookup, or a solar panel, and power cords and adapters to connect your RV to the power source. An inverter is also essential to convert DC power from your battery bank into AC power that can be used by your RV appliances, like the air conditioning, microwave, and power outlets. Lastly, you’ll need a surge protector to help prevent damage to your RV’s electrical systems in case of a power surge or overload.

What types of electrical products should I keep in my RV at all times?

When it comes to RV electrical supplies, here are some products you should always keep on hand on the road:

Which RV electrical parts most commonly need replacement?

Some RV electrical parts are prone to wear and tear and may need replacement more frequently than others. For example, RV light bulbs can burn out more than in a typical home due to the vibrations and movements of the vehicle. Shore power cords can become damaged or worn over time and should be replaced if you notice fraying or damage to the cord to avoid a safety hazard. RV batteries have a lifespan of 3-5 years on average and will need to be replaced regularly.
