When is the best time to use or add pool algaecide?

Algae killer for pools should be used and added only after you have shocked your pool. Once you have added chlorine or non-chlorine pool chemicals to the water, and you have waited until the chlorine levels have returned to normal then you can begin to add the correct amount of algaecide to several places around your pool.

Is it safe to use algaecide with other pool chemicals?

Other pool chemicals such as chlorine, should not be used together with algaecide. If both chemicals are used together at the same time, they will not be as effective as you’d need them to be.

When is it safe to swim after adding algaecide?

After using pool algaecides, it is best to wait at least 15-30 minutes before you hop back in for a splash. This is to ensure that the algaecide can do its job as effectively as possible and provide you with the results you want.
