What is an Edison bulb?

An Edison bulb is a modern light bulb modeled on the original wound filament bulb produced by the Edison Electric Light Company in the late 1800s and early 1900s. They produce a warm glow from an exposed filament and have a retro, antique look. They are sometimes referred to as filament light bulbs.

Do Edison bulbs come in different wattages?

Our assortment of Edison bulbs come in a range of wattages rated from 6 to 60 watts. How long do Edison bulbs last? Incandescent Edison bulbs can last up to 2,000 hours depending on their operating conditions, while LED Edison bulbs have working life spans of up to 15,000 hours.

Can Edison bulbs be used outside?

Edison bulbs can be used in outdoor fixtures but should be protected from the elements as they are not waterproof. Outdoor string lights with Edison-style bulbs are a great way to add style to your patio or balcony.

Why would I use Edison bulbs over other light bulb types/styles?

The main reason to use Edison bulbs over LED or incandescent bulbs is if it fits your style preference for a space. Edison bulbs provide a warm and dim glow and vintage appearance.
