If you’re new to ice fishing, it’s recommended to opt for a rod and reel combo, as this will ensure your gear will work properly and fit perfectly straight out of the box. Rod and reel combos are the also less expensive than buying each piece separately. Alternatively, pairing together an individual rod and reel can give you more options, and allow you to customize your setup to your personal preferences.
