What does an FM transmitter do?

A FM transmitter broadcasts audio signals from a device, such as a phone or tablet, to your car’s FM radio.

How does an FM transmitter work in a car?

The FM transmitter takes the audio output from your phone or tablet and modulates it onto the selected FM frequency. Essentially, it turns the audio signal into an FM radio signal. By tuning the car’s FM radio to the same frequency selected on the FM transmitter, it can then effectively reproduce the audio from the source device.

Can other cars hear my FM transmitter?

Yes, it is possible for other cars to hear the signal from your FM transmitter if they are tuned to the same frequency. However, the range of FM transmitters is limited, so other cars will need to be relatively close to your vehicle to clearly hear your broadcast.

Why should I buy an FM transmitter for my car?

If your vehicle does not have built-in Bluetooth, a FM transmitter will allow your vehicle to wirelessly stream your calls and favourite music from a connected device.
