How to level your RV

Whether you’re an experienced camper or not, RV leveling is an important part of having a safe and comfy adventure. Not only can improper leveling cause damage to your RV, but it can also cause it to sway back and forth.

What do you need to level an RV?

Leveling blocks are one of the simplest ways to keep your RV stable. They help support your RV’s wheels when stacked on top of each other and can be used in combination with other RV levels including curved ball, bubble and electronic. It’s important to note that trailer leveling blocks come in a variety of materials including aluminum, wood and plastic.

What happens if an RV isn’t level?

Not only can it affect drainage and suspension damage, but if an RV isn’t level it can also prevent your tank sensors from reading correctly. Together, these can lead to expensive repairs in the long-term.

How do I level my RV?

Once you’ve parked your RV, use levels strategically throughout the interior. You can place them on countertops, the floor or even on top of the fridge. Prop up the RV wheels using your leveling blocks, then lower any RV jacks. No matter the terrain, keeping your RV at level will make your trip stress-free.

Additional information for residents of Quebec only: The regular annual rate for persons applying for the Triangle Mastercard and the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is 21.99% for cash transactions and related fees and 21.99% for all other charges. The minimum payment is the sum of (a) the greater of: (i) interest and fees shown on your statement + $10; or (ii) 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, (b) any balance over your credit limit, (c) any amounts past due not included in (b) above, and (d) the amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due.
