Eavestroughs run along the side of eaves of a home and catch rainwater as it flows off the roof, directing it down away from a house through connected downspouts.

What are the pros and cons of installing gutter guards?

The biggest pro of gutter guards is that they will keep large debris like leaves out of your gutters, so you won't have to clean as often and keeping them ready for the next storm. Clogged gutters can create leaks, rot, and mold and mildew inside, so anything that prevents clogs is worthwhile. Despite all their advantages, gutter guards can't totally prevent clogs, as smaller debris like twigs may still find its way inside and accessing the gutter will take a bit more work.
