When do faucet or shower handles need to be replaced?

You will want to replace the handles or knobs on showers and faucets if they're loose and you cannot tighten them, or if there are leaks or drips from the fixture they control. If the faucet is noisy, the water smells bad, or there is anything in your water, those are all signs to inspect your handles and see if they need replacement.

How do I know which faucet or shower handle I need?

Check your owner's manual to make sure you choose the right kitchen faucet handle or bathroom faucet handle. Some hardware will indicate what brands it's compatible with, while others are designed for a generic fit.

Are faucet handles universal?

Faucet handles and knobs are not universal, as the sizes and designs of faucets and showers can vary.
