What are traction devices?
Tire traction aids are devices that help drivers achieve a better grip when driving on tough surfaces such as snow, ice, mud, and sand and get them back on the road. They can easily be stored in your vehicle for emergency situations. At Canadian Tire, we offer a selection of tire traction aids such as traction mats, plates, and kits to ensure that you’re prepared to travel safely on tough roads.
How do you use traction aids?
Since there are various types of traction aids such as tire chains, claws, traction mats, and traction plates, the way you use them differs based on the type of traction aid. Some traction aids, like tire chains, must be manually mounted to the car, whereas traction mats and plates are placed under the tires to allow the tires to regain traction.
How do you use truck claws?
Claw-type traction aids are mounted to the tire with a customized strap and ratchet to give the tires extra grip to get out of tough terrain.
