What does an ignition system do, and why is it important?

The ignition system controls the timing of the spark plug by igniting the fuel at exactly the right time. If the car ignition system gives the spark at the wrong time, the power goes down, which means more gas will be needed to travel the same distance.

What are the most common parts that need replacement in an ignition system?

Common ignition parts that need to be replaced over time include the battery, ignition coil, and spark plugs. The battery powers the car and it is responsible for the ignition. A failing ignition coil will give you difficulty starting your car, and spark plugs tend to get eroded.

How do I know if there's an issue with my ignition system?

If you notice that your engine won’t start, you have difficulty turning your key, your car is stalling, and the dashboard lights are flickering, these are all signs of a failing ignition system.

How do I find the right ignition system parts for my car or truck?
