I’ve only had it for a month but cleared a code so I don’t have to drive around with my check engine light on. Lots of info about the issue. Turned out to be an air leak around my gas cap. Replaced the cap and no more issues!

I bought this device to diagnose some warning lights and messages on my vehicle. Easy to set up and use - I downloaded the app, signed in to create an account, and then paired it to my phone via Bluetooth. Ran the diagnostic tool and got the error code and possible causes (which were confirmed by a Google search, and then by my garage. Great detailed report on my vehicle. Will use this in the future for both diagnostic tests and just to check on my vehicle as needed. Got it on sale, so a great deal. I do recommend this product.

Whould have returned it if I could

I have a few different code readers this one by far the then one I like the least. It’s slow to read the codes and reset them, it will not read the PCM or other core computer. But it’s not all bad. Is you like the live data or gauge data this unit works well for that

Causes remote start immobilizer to trip

Review is for the Innova 3210RS OBD2 Bluetooth Code Reader (bar code 42173 23210). Purchased from Canadian Tire in 2025 because I wanted a way to clear temporary codes without having to go to the dealer. However, simply connecting the dongle to the app seems to trip the immobilizer on the remote start. It doesn't matter how minor the code is, or whether the code is reset using the app, the immobilizer on the remote start trips every single time. This means I have to take the car to the local Kia dealer and pay them to reset the remote start immobilizer. Perhaps there is an incompatibility somewhere with Innova's hardware or software and the after-market plug-and-play Idat-astart remote start kit or the 2017 Kia Soul itself. However, nowhere on Innova's website or documentation is this incompatibility mentioned. The dealer has checked out the remote start and the problem does not seem to lie there. Yes - I can read codes and reset them with the 3210RS . But, merely connecting the dongle to the app means I have to pay $$ to my dealer every freaking time. Thanks for nothing, Innova.

The 3210RS is designed to communicate with the vehicle’s original factory-installed systems, and we have not received reports of communication issues when it is used with vehicles in their original factory configuration. Since your 2017 Kia Soul has an aftermarket iDataStart remote-start system installed, both devices may be communicating through the vehicle’s CAN network and causing an unexpected interaction.

Q: I see reports of folks returning this device. HOW? My store has an exchange-only policy on this very-limited- functionality item despite the description referencing high-level functionality.

  • A: I never brought this for it's supposed high functioning. I just brought it for a code reader and description. Has a few other functions but never used them. If you want more like data, you gotta spent 500 and up.
