How to choose the best suitcases & travel bags for your adventure

Every exciting journey begins with planning and packing clothes and supplies. It’s important to find the best travel bags to suit your trip. Canadian Tire has a wide range of suitcases and accessories for you to consider.

Hard vs. soft-sided luggage
There are two major types of luggage bags to choose from: soft-sided and hard-sided luggage. Choosing between hard and soft travel bags often depends on the duration and style of your trip.

Soft Travel Bags
Backpacks are popular for camping, hiking, and other outdoor adventure trips. They come in a wide range of sizes and are designed for comfort and to maximize the portability of all your essential items. Duffle bags are another great soft-shell luggage option ideal for road trips, weekend getaways and brief, active, travel. They are versatile, so when you aren’t travelling, they can be used in your day-to-day life as a carry-all companion. There are also many soft suitcases with sturdy frames and closures. Consider using a soft travel bag or suitcase when you are packing light and need to be swift and agile. Soft bags are also appropriate when you are short on space for packing, as they are often more flexible than hard suitcases.

Hard Travel Bags
Hard suitcases and luggage bags are ideal for long-haul trips. These are sturdy, durable bags that act as mini fortresses for your clothing, travel accessories, and souvenirs. Many of these hard-shell luggage pieces provide more protection for valuables. These bags are available in a wide range of hard thermoplastic materials, including PC (polycarbonate) and ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene).

· Carry-ons are the smallest option, meant to fit in overhead compartments of airplanes.

· Midsize luggage suitcases range from 24 to 30 inches in length, while large luggage suitcases are often 28 inches or more in length and have a high capacity.

· Luggage sets are the best option for long-haul trips requiring lots of clothing, travel accessories and other supplies. These sets contain multiple pieces of matching luggage bags and often include a carry-on, a midsize suitcase, and a large suitcase.

· Matching, uniform luggage can be helpful to track all of your belongings during a long hectic trip. These often come in 3-piece, 4-piece, and even 5-luggage sets.

For Eligible Purchases at Participating Stores, Linked Members will earn WestJet points within forty-eight (48) hours.  For WestJet Eligible Purchases, Linked Members will earn CT Money within thirty (30) days of completion of a flight segment (any single takeoff and landing by an aircraft). Linked Members can convert WestJet points into CT Money at a rate of one hundred twenty (120) WestJet points to one dollar ($1.00) in CT Money.   A minimum of two thousand four hundred (2400) WestJet points must be transferred.  WestJet reserves the right to change the conversion rate and/or impose conversion limits (minimum/maximums) from time to time, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable laws and regulations. Conversion is optional and initiated solely by the Linked Member.
