Bike Replacement Parts: What Should You Replace and When?

Tires & Tubes

Worn tires can lose grip, leading to slips and accidents. Replace tires every 2,000 to 3,000 miles, or when worn out. Tubes should be replaced if they frequently lose air or show damage.

Pedals

Worn pedals can cause slippage and reduce power transfer. Replace them every couple of years or sooner if you notice issues like loose bearings or cracks forming.

Bike Seats

Uncomfortable seats can lead to pain on longer rides. If your seat loses padding or shows visible damage, replace it every 1 to 2 years.

Grips

Worn grips can become slippery, reducing your control. Replace them yearly or when they no longer provide a firm hold.

Pegs

For BMX bikes, damaged pegs can compromise safety during tricks. Replace them if they show signs of dents, rust or cracks.

Kickstands

Nobody likes a wobbly or rusty kickstand. Check its stability regularly and replace it every few years, or as needed.

Fenders

Cracked fenders won’t protect you from splashes. Inspect regularly and replace immediately if damaged.
