Replacing a broken rear brake or shifter cable

It can be used as either rear brake or shifter cable. There is a fitting on each end of the cable to fit different systems. Just cut off the one you don't need. Package has no installation instructions,so just find your type on You Tube if you need help.

Q: Can i cut the cable to fit my bike length?

A: yes, decide which end fits into your brake handle or shifter then cut off from the other end, cut the housing a little shorter than the cable. use sharp wire cutters, try to cut through cable in one cut, try to prevent fraying which hinder installation.

Q: My existing cable has two rubber housings and the mid section is exposed as it goes through guide on bike frame, i bought this cable but i see that entire cable is in a single rubber housing, how do i fix this?

A: You can cut the housing down to size, you'd need to source one or two housing end cups to put on the end of the housing after cutting

Q: Where to get cable ancher bolts I need the threaded archer bolts which the 2mm brake cable fits into (hole) on the bolt a washer and nut can be used to adjust the brake. I can only find cable standoff or cable guides.

Q: Does CT carry a front brake cable like this? Does Canadian Tire have a similar part, but for the front brake of a Supercycle? I don't see one online, or at my local store.

A: 073-7402 can be served as Front brake cable as well. The difference between Rear brake cable and Front brake cable is the length of cable, and Rear brake cable is longer than the front brake cable. Therefore, all you need is to cut this cable to a proper length to apply to the use as front brake cable.
