What are the different types of plungers?

There's the standard cup plunger which has a rubber cup on a wood handle, bellows style plungers with corrugated sides, and specialty plungers such as mini plungers that are perfect for sinks.

Are sink and toilet plungers the same?

Most plungers will work on both toilets and sinks, but you'll probably want to use different plungers for each.

What type of plunger is best for sinks?

Any plunger will work on a sink as long as the cup will seal firmly over the drain. You may prefer a mini plunger for sinks, as it may be easier and less messy.

Are sink plungers effective?

Sink plungers can clear clogged drains up to a point, after which you may need more direct tools such as a drain auger or chemical drain cleaner to get it flowing properly.
