What are the different types of car washing products?

Regular washing and maintenance keep your car free from dirt and grime, preserve the paint job and minimize future scratching.

Achieve professional detailing results at home with a few specific products. Before scrubbing them with soap and a sponge, dust the interior and exterior with non-abrasive towels. Dusting helps remove finer particles and grime. Get the surface wet by rinsing the exterior with a spray. Next, pre-treat the stained areas with car wash accessories, such as soap to loosen any grime. Use a car washing mitt made of microfibre material and soap for scrubbing the surface. For harder-to-clean areas, such as tires, use brushes with soft bristles which prevent scratching the wheels. In addition, you will need two high-quality buckets, one for the diluted wash soap and the other to rinse the mitts. And finally, use a drying towel made of microfibre material to soak up all the water. You can follow this step with detailing towels to pat dry, which helps prevent water spots from forming.

What supplies and products do I need to wash my cars at home?

Invest in a high-quality car wash mitt, which helps scrub the dirt and grime without scratching the paint and minimizes the loss of wax coating.

A mitt is only effective as a cleansing agent. Choose a soap specifically designed for vehicles. Avoid using household cleaners, as they can damage and scratch paint. Use two buckets for storing liquids, as reusing the same water for cleaning can leave abrasive materials stuck to the mitt and prevent effective cleaning.

Once done cleaning and drying the vehicle, inspect the wax coating and check if it has worn off. In such cases, re-applying a coat of spray wax restores shine while adding a protective layer that repels dust and dirt.
