After almost sixty years of repairing and recycling bikes, it became apparent that there are two diameters of cables. The cable may be universal for 2mm applications but it neither fits the pull grip insert hole nor the sheathing for a 1,5 mm cable.

Q: There are fittings on both ends. How are you supposed to pass this inner cable through your existing casing? Would it have been better to have one end without a fitting?

A: Thanks Bike Support for the reply. I have cut cables with a Dremel cut-off disc but they usually fray. I was able to find one with a properly finished end which was easy to pass through the casing.
