The Euramax StealthDrain® Low Profile Catch Basin, Black, allows you to redirect damaging rainwater away from your home while giving the appearance of a buried drainage system at a fraction of the cost. The low-lying design and subtle appearance mean you can cover it with mulch, straw, or stones without digging, utilizing the included 8-foot length of 2-inch pipe to direct rainwater however needed. Simply cut the pipe to length, screw it into the drainage holes, extend it, and bury it under mulch, stones, or pine straw, utilizing both drain holes for downspouts over 3 by 4 inches due to increased water volume.

Attaching the hose was next to impossible

Had to resort to tuck tape and drilling few holes to attach a wire to hold the hose in place. If they spent 50 cents more on a proper adapter it would be the perfect solution and rate 5 out of 5. If you're ok with McGyvering, I would recommend it. Short of attaching the hose issue, it's the perfect solution.

Easy to install - flexible to extend

Very easy to setup and maintain. We were having water pooling around the foundation after a rain and the regular downspout extenders weren't useful. The regular downspout extenders are bulky, take up space on the lawn and clog up easily when the weather is near freezing. This catch basin solution might seem a bit more costly than other catchers but the savings are that you don't need to buy a hose and hose adapters. The whole thing can sit on the surface of the grass as suggested, but we opted to make the catch basin level with the ground. To do this we had to dig a small trench 6 inches down (very easy). Now the surface water around the drain and the downspout water collect into the basin. The pipe underground means we can move, mow shovel snow around the area and the water exits at a location where it can flow back. Would have been significantly more expensive and more digging with any regular 4" pipe. After this one worked out so easy we decided to do all the other downspouts. The "after" picture is after a heavy rain. The pooling of water in the "before" picture is after light rain.
