I bought this pump installed the batteries and right out of the package. It would not pump diesel fuel. It is poorly designed and very cheap. I returned it for a refund.

Using Portable Fuel Transfer Pump

I just used the pump for the first time. It took a little getting used to but it worked well. Only concern is that it states that you shouldn't run the pump dry. So although there is fuel in the tank you must remove the pump, replace the cap and spout and manually empty the remaining fuel into your tank. It takes a bit of getting used to but I would not have been able to hold and tip the fuel can to fill the tank without the use of the transfer pump. Not sure how long the unit will last but certainly gets the job done.
