The material for each compartment are attached solidly to the material of the overall organizer/ Zipperrs are solidly attached as well. I actually got it to use over my headboard at home but if I ever go camping in a manner with a cot I will be sure to bring it. I got it to use in the home as mobility issues makes how long I will be on my bed hard to predict It works well for that.
