Quite literally A drop in replacement sink replacing an old (+30 years) porcelain sink!

Bought this to replace an original porcelain bathroom sink that rusted out near the drain attach point. My concern was if it would fit the existing hole and how much re-plumbing I would have to line up the drain pipe. This sink not only fit perfectly, the drain also lined up nicely with the existing drainage. I was also able to reuse the existing taps as they were new a year ago. Very happy with this unit! Of course every application is different so as the saying goes, measure twice!!!!

Bad design.

I got this because the price was right and American Standard is a good brand and the same outer size as the shape I was replacing so no need for a new counter or cutting.
Unfortunately I did not open the box before the plumber came to install it and I hate this sink. The outer shape is the same size as my old one but the actual bowl is much smaller.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Exactly what I needed at a price I felt was affordable. It fit very well into the existing vanity very well. Loved the fact it was all porcelain as my previous sink began rusting.

Q: As I am replacing an enamelled steel sink, how is this held in place as there are no tie downs like the steel sink. Just gravity and sealant? What type of sealant ? Thanks

A: After checking fit and alignment, turn sink upside down and apply a generous portion of sealant around the underside of the rim near the edge. Carefully lower sink in place, align with marks made earlier, and press down firmly. Allow sealant to set before connecting supplies and drain

Q: Do you need calking around the opening, since it is a self sealing sink?

A: Self sealing means there are no clamps to secure it to the counter. Yes you should seal the sink with a bead of silicone around the outside so water doesn’t get underneath the sink and ruin you counter top

A: Unfortunately a special order cannot be placed for this Item. Also consumers currently cannot get this part directly from American standard. American Standard is working on providing replacement parts for purchase from the web site or customer service line. This is still a few months away from launch.

A: No it cannot fit into a square cut out that large. The shape needs to be oval and smaller.
