Zinsser's innovative aerosol primer helps seal surfaces for a perfect finish coat. Simply spray onto bare surfaces like drywall, plaster and wood to lock out stains and prepare for painting. The fast-drying shellac formula brushes on easily, allowing you to prime and paint the same day. Ideal for small areas where rollers and brushes are difficult, the convenient aerosol can helps you precisely target window sills, trim and corners to seal surfaces for an even paint job.

Good oil-based primer

I had some water damage which stained a baseboard and part of my ceiling. I used BIN to prime over it before repainting and it worked great to block the water stains. I'd definitely recommend it. Ensure you use it in a well-ventilated area, as the fumes are very strong.

Perfect for drywall repair - I damaged some drywall on my ceiling and looked on YouTube on how to fix it - this product was highly recommended. I picked it up and used it - it was very effective!

Don’t buy the spray can
a year ago
Might be a great product, but do not buy the spray can. After reading numerous reviews and comments from the manufacturer, I figured that user error might be an issue. I was wrong. I shook the can as required and continuously kept the sprayer clean. The spray can still sputtered and clogged, making it completely useless after a couple minutes. I’ve got 3/4 of a can that I can not use so I can’t even get to reviewing the primer.

Awful!

Bought this to prep a metal cabinet from IKEA for a colour change. Worst spray paint I’ve ever used. Big glops from the first spray to the last. Runny and streaky. Had to go over it all with a brush in an attempt to smooth. Only got four sides primed before can was done. Pulled out an old can of Rustoleum and it was perfect (primer & paint). Never buying this again!

To avoid clogging, we recommend shaking the can vigorously until the ball inside the can rattles. Then turn the can upside down and continue shaking for one minute and shake continuously during use. If the valve clogs, you can twist and pull off the spray tip to rinse it in a solvent such as denatured alcohol. Q: Can it be used on automobiles?

A: Can be used on all interior surfaces and for spot priming on exterior surfaces. Adheres well to all dense, smooth and slick surfaces including dense hardboard, chipboard, glass, ceramic tile, PVC, metal pipes and galvanized duct work. Sticks to all surfaces without sanding, etching or deglossing.
