DEWALT DW616PK 1-3/4 HP(Max Motor HP) Fixed Base & Plunge Router Combo Kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this router for planing an epoxy live edge coffee table i was making and spent a few weeks reading reviews online and on YouTube and decided to purchase this kit and i have not had any regrets the router is a beast it powers through everything i have used it for like it was going through warm butter this router has not disappointed at all i use the plunge base all the time with the linear rails with bearing blocks that i use to slide my router forwards and backwards and side to side on a router sled i made for planing wood slabs with my router i especially like the handle grips on both router bases they allow for a comfortable grip that reduces grip fatigue and also dampen,s the vibration through the hands and wrists i cant really think of anything that is negative about this router the cord is well insulated and is long the power switch is near enough to the base handles that i can reach it with my index finger and still keep both hands on the handle grips the dust port on the plunge base was easily to adapt for the shop vac for dust collection of most of the smaller dust particles i am extremely happy with my purchase

Just bought this kit and it arrived yesterday. I haven't used it yet, but right off the bat I have noticed a few pretty annoying issues: 1) This is critical to me. The depth adjustment wheel on the plunge base is designed incorrectly. The stop pin interferes with the screw on the wheel and prevents it from fully depressing (see photo). This is an embarrassing design flaw 2) Two wrenches are needed to tighten/loosen the collets. However, the kit only comes with a single wrench. One end fits the collect, one end fits the collet. I guess Dewalt decided to save a little money and forgot how their own tool works! Embarrassing flaw #2. 3) The hard case is poorly shaped for the tools, not holding them well - and with no clear locations for the accessories. Embarrassing flaw #3 I own several other Dewalt tools that I love, but this just shows a clear lack of consumer insight and knowledge of the product they are selling. Very disappointed - and not likely to purchase future Dewalt tools after this experience.

I'm a big fan of DeWalt tools, and this router kit hasn't let me down. Although lots of routers are listed as 1.75 hp, this router's 11 amps give it superior power. Changing bits and making depth adjustments was much easier with this DeWalt Router.
