Great look for your garage. And economical for a home project. Follow all instructions as close as possible.Prep is key. Try and pick your spot if you using multiple kits as shades may vary slightly based on mix time and temperature.

While the ad says 250 ft sq, and the box I think says 200-250, the instructions say 125-250 and it can even be worse: I was able to barely cover my small 150 ft sq garage with newer but very rough concrete, so in the end bought a 2nd box to give it a 2nd coat, which looks a lot better and better coats all the rough bits. (Should have bought the "2 1/2 car garage" version; would have been cheaper overall.)
And of course make sure to degrease and clean the floor really well. (Degreaser can be bought separately; citric acid based cleaner/etcher is included.)

Q: I have Indoor Outdoor carpet Glued down to my front concrete steps. After removing the carpet, will this adhere to the remaining glue residue?

A: I cannot say for sure as I have never tried. I have applied it to concrete and wood and it adheres great. On concrete garage floor I reapplied after 13 yrs just to bring back the sheen I would suspect that it would cover and adher to the glue

Q: can this paint be used on basement floors and cinder blocks walls too? I want to paint my basement blocks but I want a good quality paint and durable, if this can be on the garage floor could it be put on the walls of and floor of a basement?

A: In addition: Zinsser Watertite is a ready to use coating that is formulated to waterproof interior and exterior concrete, stucco, cement, cinder block and other masonry surfaces. It is ideal for interior basement walls and for sealing concrete basement slabs prior to installing flooring (not recommended for foot traffic). Also great for exterior foundations and retaining walls, above and below grade.

Q: Can this product be used on a wood sauna floor where the temperature goes from -30 to +100 C?

A: Hi, Great question! Unfortunately, our epoxy coatings like our EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating kit, are not suitable for application to wood surfaces. Epoxy coatings cure very stiff and rigid and do not allow for any flexibility. A wood surface is going to expand and contract and will be quite flexible, and the epoxy will not be able to flex with the wood causing it will crack and chip off.

Q: I’ve used this product a couple of times in the past and believe I bought this and a sealer separately. I had the best results using this sealer, but I don’t see it available my more? Am I remembering correctly?

Q: What thickness do people apply? There seems to be very mixed results. I’d assume if you stretched the product at all and got the coverage too thin you’d have problems.

A: The Epoxy Shield Garage Floor coating will cover up to 250 square feet, assuming a thickness of 6 mil when wet. Using a 10-13mm roller to apply the product will help achieve this thickness.

Q: I used this product and used two gallons to complete my garage floor one side is nice and has a nice shine the other side has dull areas . Why? Is there another product I can apply to make is shine?

Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating Kit is a two-component system that is dependent on temperature, humidity, and the activation time of the coating and can affect the final gloss, color, etc. of the product.For the best results, we recommend combining all of the Base cans together and stir them thoroughly to ensure consistency in color. Then pour the product back into the original gallon cans and activate one at a time as per the directions. We want to hear more about your experience and try to make things right with you.
