Great product

Put on my 20x20 garage concrete floor. Used 2 coats. It’s early but it seems to be holding up well. Very simple application as it’s only a one part epoxy. Time will tell I guess.

Not worth the money.

Bought two cans of this on your website so just had to pick up at the cash. When I opened it I was very disappointed that it hadn’t been shaken, however I stirred it myself. First can wasn’t too bad to stir and it worked just fine. When I opened the second can there was just no way to stir the stuff off the bottom. I used about two cups then decided to transfer the rest into the empty can that I had just used so I could see what was left in the bottom of the can. There was about 1/2 inch of material left that would not come off. There’s no way you would get it off by stirring a full can with a stir stick. After rooting it off I returned it to the store to be told I didn’t stir it enough. Very disappointed in service and will definitely not buy it again. Afraid what will happen when I drive a car on it after 28 days.

Applied well and covers well

Would be a higher star rating, if not lumpy. (Old stock).

Old stock. They shook it up in the store. But, was still lumpy at the bottom. Used it anyways, after 15 minutes of vigorous stirring. Ok result. But I feel it would have been better if fresher paint. It's not the first time I bought paint already hardened to some extent. Driveway sealer should be opened and checked thoroughly. I did so once before, this store put it back on the shelf. I know because of the markings in the dented container. Wake up CT. Also check you receipts for Triangle points. Twice after service work and a new battery, did not receive the points. This is after being assured that I had.

Don’t waste your time, it will all peel off as soon as you drive on it. Manufacturer needs to revisit the product!

Questions

1 - 9 of 9 Questions

Q: How long after dry time can I put things back on the floor (not the car) ?

2 Answers
  • A: I would wait 2 days min for the paint to cure. This paint does not stop water from lifting the paint off the floor if it sits on the surface for any length of time.

Q: what is needed for prep work before applying this product

2 Answers
  • A: I applied it directly on a dry clean surface. Looks great in the basement. Did not stand up to well in the garage..because of the salt from the car, i assume. Pat.

Q: will this product resist staining from dog urine?

1 Answer
  • A: Most products, like this one will have a limited resistance to urination staining after curing **28 days full cure** Uric acid is organic and tends to stain most coatings quickly so fast clean up is key!!

Q: Can I use Armor Coat Rust Primer on a wood floor and then paint with Solignum Acrylic Epoxy Floor Paint?

1 Answer
  • A: You are not required to use a Rust Primer prior to painting your floor with Solignum Acrylic Epoxy Paint. We suggest you dilute your 1st coat of Solignum Acrylic Epoxy Paint by 5-10 parts water to ensure optimal product adhesion, allow to dry and apply the 2nd coat of product as is.

Q: Can this be painted on vertical and curved metallic surfaces?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, this product is formulated with hard acrylic resin and contains a flash-rust inhibitor making it applicable to metal. However, for this type of application we suggest priming the surface with a metal primer to ensure optimal coverage and adhesion such as Zinsser Oil Base Primer # 48-8364. Another option is to use spray paint. Krylon Dual Spray Paint Product # 48-2204X features paint and primer in one and will adhere to metal surfaces. There is also a wide variety of colours to choose from.

Q: How well does it withstand road salt? Or does it eat away at it.

1 Answer
  • A: The product is designed to protect against road salt. The salt should be cleaned/washed off on a regular basis. Prolonged exposure to road salt will cause damage to the surface.

Q: Can I put Solignum Epoxy Floor Paint over an existing oil based garage floor paint?

  • A: I don't think so. Just to be sure, you can try a small patch first before applying it on the whole surface.
