Bought two kits 4 or 5 months apart. One kit turned out very light grey and 2nd very dark grey. This is a problem when garage floor is painted in halves. Not happy!

Look great the 2 first year, after that it begin to peeling and look like.... i have to redone the floor these sumer.

Q: Can Armour Coat Epoxy floor coating be applied over sealed concrete?

A: It is recommended on fresh unsealed concrete , but you have a way of stripping or etching the sealed surface it can be used . I just washed my garage floor , ( that was previously painted ) , and applied it , and it has held up quite well .

A: Hi Jaychand, When using the Armor Coat Epoxy Garage Floor Coating kit, after the appropriate standing tine, cut in the perimeter of the floor along the wall, or other areas where a roller cannot reach, using a brush or edger before beginning roller application. Use an epoxy safe ½” (12.7 mm.) nap roller cover and 9” roller frame to apply an even coat onto the surface. Limit the application to 4-ft by 4-ft (1.2m X 1.2 m) sections at a time to make it easier to distribute the colored chips onto the freshly coated surface. Scatter the decorative chips up and away from you so they land flat on the wet paint, then continue on to the next section. Keep in mind, fresh paint can be applied over the loose chips lying outside the previously painted area. Maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks and gloss differences and the coating must be used within 1 to 2 hours of initial mixing.

A: Hi TinCB, The Garage floor coating is for indoor garages. It is not recommended to be used on surfaces which are not covered and will be exposed to the elements as it will not hold up to the outdoor elements as it is water-based.

A: Hi Gus1, Stir thoroughly. Cut in the perimeter of the floor along the wall, or other areas where a roller cannot reach, using a brush or edger before beginning roller application. Use a synthetic 13 mm (½") nap roller cover on a 24cm (9.5") roller frame to apply an even coat of EpoxyShield Concrete Paint onto the surface.

Q: Can I use decorative colour chips with this paint / coating? How many coats need for a basement?

A: Hi Donal, Great question! Yes, decorative chips can be added to the coating. Once you have painted a 4 x 4 section, you can broadcast the chips over the treated floor. One coat is typically all you will need. However, if a second coat is required, you have 72 hours to re-coat without having to prep the surface.

Q: what is required for floor preparation before using this product?

A: depends what is on your concrete floor if there is paint or just bare concrete. Regardless of the floor condition I allways prep my floor with T.S.P. wash you floor with this reading the instructions. very simple to use and no smell to it , compared to sulfuric acid. These paints are usually strong smelling and require several hours to days before completly curing( 2 to 4 hrs to touch but up to 14 days until complete curing has been acheived . ,so nice weather is a must for a faster drying time and plenty of ventilation would be advised . hope this helps.
