We appreciate the feedback, Ali. Our EpoxyShield Concrete & Garage Floor Paint & Primer Deep Tint Base should be tinted at the Paint Desk prior to your application. The deep tint base option allows you to choose one of the 16 colours we offer to help transform your garage floor. Please consider reaching out to us at 1-800-387-3625 and we'll be happy to talk further with you. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1 rustoleum-ca

Thank you Tami for sharing your experience with us with our EpoxyShield Concrete and Garage Floor Paint.
It is not typical of our product to do that.
If the paint is only peeling in certain areas, it could be that these areas of the concrete could have remanence of oil stains or other products that may prevent the paint from sticking.
It would be best to contact us as we would like to hear more about your experience to make things right with you.
Feel free to give us a call at 1-800-387-3625 to talk to us. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 1. rustoleum-ca

Do not buy!

Did not perform how i expected. Followed the directions exactly and let it cure longer the recommended time as explained on the can. Paint is peeling after the first contact with car tires. I would not recommend this paint.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Q: Can you add paint flakes ?

1 Answer
  • A: You can add the flakes to the finish as soon as you roll the paint on the floor by sections so you know you can apply them everywhere.

Q: Will this product cover floor stains. Plan to use on the concrete floor in my work shop which has some paint dripping stains on it.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, Our Epoxyshield Concrete & Garage Floor Paint is not a stain blocker. We cannot guarantee it will block the paint stains on the floor. It is best to sand the paint off as much as possible prior to coating the floor.

Q: what is the best application of your paint to restore or cover up stress fractures on the concrete steps

1 Answer
  • A: Hi brian k, We recommend repairing the stress fractures first before applying any coatings. If the fractures are deep, we recommend speaking to a professional. RockSolid® Fast Patch™ is a two-component epoxy putty that is designed to fill minor cracks, spalls, and low spots as well as vertical cracks and slab damage. It does not have to reach full cure to be profiled prior to coating. This makes it ideal for new installers filling hairline cracks, pits and small surface flaws. Most coatings can be applied directly over the uncured Fast patch provided repairs are shallow and narrow. For large repairs, allow the Fast Patch to cure fully and then sand with 80 grit sandpaper to profile (de-gloss) before applying coatings. The surface will be fully cured in 8-12 hours.

Q: I want to paint the cement floor in my basement. will this work? Should I prime first? And should I use the epoxy shield finish after?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi michelleligh66, Yes, you can apply our Epoxyshield Concrete & Garage Floor Paint + Primer on your cement floor in your basement. This coating is a paint and primer in one. A separate primer, such as our Rust-Oleum Garage & Interior Floor Primer, can be used if there is a previous paint on the floor. To further protect your floor paint, we recommend our Epoxyshield Concrete & Garage Clear Finish Topcoat (370118).

Q: Can this product be used on a new wood garage floor?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Stocker, Unfortunately, our Epoxy Shield coatings are not suitable for application to wood surfaces. Epoxy coatings cure very stiff and rigid and do not allow for any flexibility. A wood surface is going to expand and contract and will be quite flexible, and the epoxy will not be able to flex with the wood causing it will crack and chip off.
