      Anti slip paint

Did not work at all on pressure treated ramp. It had plenty of time to cure over 24-36 hrs and a second coat was applied waited 48hrs before allowing traffic. This was applied at 16c.First snow fall it all came off.

Q: Can this be used on an older plywood ramp? It was painted about a year ago with sand added to the paint. Most of the paint has since faded/warn off Also can this be applied during the winter?

      1 Answer
      • A: Hi Stevie, yes, you can use TracSafe Colour Coat on a plywood ramp, followed by two coats of TracSafe Anti-Slip Clear Sealer to protect the surface and achieve optimal slip-resistance. Just be sure that the wood is clean and dry before application for reliable long term adhesion. Temperatures for application ideally should be at least 10 C during application and should remain so for at least 8 hours as it dries — and above freezing temperatures overnight. Thanks for your helpful question Stevie!

Q: Would this work on a metal ramp?

      1 Answer
      • A: Thanks for your inquiry. ColourCoat is self priming on concrete and other porous surfaces, however, on a metal ramp (especially if galvanized) you would need to first prime with an appropriate metal primer to enhance adhesion. Otherwise, ColourCoat would prematurely chip or scratch off.

Q: Want to apply to my foundation, can it be applied over oil based paint and what is the prep work required. Thank you

      1 Answer
      • A: Thanks for your question. TracSafe Colour Coat will adhere to a concrete foundation. However, if there is an existing oil based coating, is it old or has it been applied recently? If older, faded and chalked then just scrape or pressure wash loose paint, let dry and apply ColourCoat. If oil paint is newer and still glossy, best to degloss by scuff sanding with a 150-180G sandpaper or remove with a stripper prior to coating with ColourCoat. Once ColourCoat has been applied, best to seal with a Daich clear acrylic sealer to protect the surface from staining or water marks.

Q: can you use daich tracsafe anti-slip coat over vinyl decking?

      1 Answer
      • A: Thanks for your inquiry. If your vinyl decking is older, chalked and faded, best to clean and then apply our TracSafe ColourCoat coating. If your vinyl decking is in sound condition and has any sheen left on it, best to scuff sand the area with an 80G-100G sandpaper prior to applying TracSafe ColourCoat. Because ColourCoat is a porous stone coating, be sure to finish with a clear sealer to protect against staining.

Q: Can I use this on wood that is already stained?

      1 Answer
      • A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, as long as the stained wood has cured. If the stain has recently been applied, it may have an oily film which will prevent adhesion. However, it the stain as cured, two coats of TracSafe will provide slip resistance.

      1 Answer
      • A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, TracSafe Anti-Slip Sealer works great on exterior concrete. Best to stir well, then apply 2 coats with a 10mil (3/8") lint free roller 2-3hrs apart. You can walk on it, and enjoy the increased traction, the next day.
