What is a wheel fastener?

Wheel fasteners (wheel lug nuts or bolts) are used to attach a wheel to a hub, locking everything in place. They are threaded into hubs in a pattern of four, five, six, or eight fasteners per wheel.

Can you replace wheel bolts?

If your wheel bolts become damaged, the whole hub may need to be replaced in the event of any stripped threads.

How much does it cost to replace wheel bolts?

The cost of wheel bolt replacement will vary based on your vehicle and the damage.

How do you fix a broken wheel stud?

You’ll have to completely remove the broken wheel stud and replace it with a new one. The best way to take the broken stud out is by using a remover. Do not hammer it out, otherwise you will cause more damage. Tighten the new studs with a torque wrench.

Is it safe to drive with a missing wheel stud?

It is not safe to drive with a missing wheel lug stud because this puts additional pressure on the other remaining wheel studs and they will eventually break also.
