Should I buy batteries in bulk and when do they expire?

Buying batteries in bulk is a good idea so you always have some on hand when you need them, whether for normal or emergency use. Most alkaline batteries have a shelf life of between 7 to 10 years, while some lithium batteries have a shelf life of up to 20 years.

What are the most common household batteries to buy?

AAA, AA, and 9-volt batteries are very common and are typically used in toys, controllers, remote controls, and smoke detectors. C and D batteries are often used in flashlights and lanterns.

Should I buy rechargeable batteries?

Rechargeable batteries can be a great investment for battery types you use and drain often, like AA or AAA batteries in game controllers or toys. Having two or more sets of rechargeable batteries can reduce the amount of waste batteries you'll otherwise need to dispose of and will ensure you always have batteries ready when you need them.
