We’ve purchased several of these storage containers for our property up north. We use them to store heavy duty batteries (from solar panels) and other heavy equipment. They are durable and heavy duty. They have a bit of a lip around the lid so they stack securely. We’ve been using them for approximately 2 years. The heat in the cabin fluctuates with the outdoor temperature- it’s not heated when we’re not there. So far they have held up well.

A: Thank you for your interest in our product. The black base comes from recyclable materials and can go in the recycling bin. The blue base does not come from recyclable materials and can go in the recycling bin as well. Customer Care

Q: Do the 45l totes stack/nest with the 70/102l totes?

A: The 45L tote has a smaller base than the 70/102 lids. You can stack them but they would have to be on top and they wouldn't lock in as tight.

A: Thank you for your question. No tote will be 100% waterproof. There are channels in the bungee holes of the lid for the heavy-duty totes that help to prevent water infiltration but that is not waterproof. You would require a gasket and latches, like food storage. Customer Care
