Best Ice Control product and value.

This is the best product for ice control, and also the best value. I'm not sure why it was discontinued, but I hope they reconsider and bring it back. I bought roughly 15 (40kg) bags each winter.

Q: Can this be used in a paddle ice cream maker? Are there any chemicals added or is it just salt?

A: Rock salt is not recommended for use on wooden decks. It’s not been tested to identify the long term effects on wood, but could potentially contribute to drying out the wooden surface.

Q: My only concern is will the ice patrol harm the driveway concrete ? Will it harm garden plants ?

A: If there are concerns about damage to concrete or negative effects on vegetation than regular rock salt would not be the recommendation. A blend such as Yardworks that’s enhanced with CMA lasts longer, requires fewer applications and is safer for both concrete and vegetation.
