Q: Does the top plate adjust to accommodate different thicknesses? I watched the video and it looked like the sandwiches were squished from the back end of the maker.

A: Yes. On the left side rail there's a ball and spring catch that keeps the upper plate from swinging freely. A slight push on the front part of the grill plate releases it. (use a heat proof glove, it's hot.) It seems like it'll accommodate a reasonably thick sandwich or whatever, while keeping the plates parallel to one another. I think in the video they're more interested in showing the nice? looking sandwich. Works nicely, seems well designed and constructed.

A: I don't know for sure but I'm going to guess no, because "griddle" isn't mentioned anywhere in the product description. If it had flat plates included it likely would say so.

A: Good day, Further to your email, the PTFE and PFOA used in the fabrication of the non-stick coating are chemically inert. The PTFE is a tender deformable material and is semi crystalline, opaque, white and alimentary. Pure PTFE is FDA (Food and Drug Administration) conforming. Secondly, it is scientifically proven that PFOA completely evaporates during the “curing process” while the coating is cooking and merging with the material of the cookware. PFOA is eliminated up to the point that it was undetectable during the different migration tests done. This was confirmed by more than one organization: • USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) • EFSA (European Food and Safety Authority) • EPA (Environment Protection Agency). Please be assured that you can safely use all of our non-stick product lines.
