Tires Expired at 40,000KM !!

GMC Canada provided stock on my new Yukon XL. They lasted only 40,000km of HWY driving. Now @4/32 they are unsafe in the lightest snow. Continental will not warranty them despite their claim of 112,000 km limited tread-wear warranty! GM Canada will not do anything beside read scripted policy that they are not liable for treadwear. SHAME on both companies for distributing a product that is actual a danger to use on a truck. DO NOT BUY THESE!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What is the mileage rating in kilometres we are metric here on continental cross contact tires LX20 size P275/55 R20. Also second question is if I am towing A Jayco travel trailer with a weight distribution hitch do I affect the mileage rating

1 Answer
  • A: To your first question, the kilometer rating on the tires is 112,000 kms. To your second question, you must confirm that the extra trailer load added to the vehicle does not exceed the max load on the tires. Any loading over the maximum load of 1090 kg or 2403 lbs on the tires will potentially affect the life of the tires and the warranty.

Q: Is the white lettering on both sides of the tire? I'd like to mount them with the white letting facing inward, so that you only see a black sidewall.

1 Answer
  • A: The Outline White Lettering is on one side of the tire. You can mount it facing inward if you prefer not to see it.
