What kind of rod do you need for fly fishing?

You'll need a fly rod with the length you prefer to use and the right weight rating for your line and the fish you're hoping to catch.

What size fly rod should I get?

Anything from 4 to 6-weight is ideal for typical fly fishing in streams, while higher weight rods are typically used for bigger, more powerful fish such as salmon or saltwater fly fishing.

How do you pick the right fly reel?

Most often the right reel will be included in a combo kit, which is the easiest way to build your fishing setup. If you have a preference or a rod already, you'll want to match the reel to the weight of your line.
