Hello jbs22 and thank you for your opinion and feedback you posted on the Moen website. The Moen Sleek MotionSense Wave One-Handle Pulldown Touchless Kitchen Faucet does require power to operate. The faucet includes a battery pack and six AA alkaline batteries to power the faucet. The six AA alkaline batteries should last about a year with normal everyday operation; the sensor will start flashing to indicate the batteries need to be replaced. Should you require any warranty or pre-purchase assistance, please feel free to contact us directly.

Unit has a very nice look, works fine. we replaced a moen faucet that had the hands free eye in front and on top, we could not find another like it, what I don’t like with this one is that when you wipe the counter it turns on.

Need a lifetime supply of batteries

Batteries only last two months. I use less water than most as a single person household but still the batteries only last 7-8 weeks and then zero water when they die. No way to bypass (without purchasing? an adaptor). I’m going to have to buy batteries for “life”? (Moen for LIfe is their motto). Don’t buy. I’d never recommend or get another faucet with a sensor again.

Oh I think this is my third or fourth. Maybe even fifth Moen faucet over the years and as usual they don't disappoint!!

Poor design The builder chose this NOT Me

I do not like the motion sensor. I disengaged the sensor and use only the handle of the faucet. BUT when the batteries die you have no water the faucet handle will not work and must replace the batteries to use the lever of the faucet. The batteries hardly last a year and I don't use the sensor. How ridiculous is this.
