It looks great for sure but its just a bit off from stainless steel. It took about 7 coats for me to cover my dishwasher and it left a sandy sparkle coat on top but i found that washed off easily with a wet cloth. Make sure you wipe side to side because it left lines but it a tually gave it a brushed stainless steel look. Gabe 4 stars because sometimes it sprayed clumps

maybe I just got a bad can...

I'd like to think maybe the can I got was just a bad one in ten, but it's difficult to say. The product was runny and would randomly spew metal flake no matter how much the can was shaken, giving part of the coat a gritty texture while the rest looks smudged. The paint has the exact same reflectiveness that you'd expect from stainless steel, but isn't as dark as the cap would suggest. The cap is the same colour as the paint when wet, but then dries to look a mix in-between the cap and plain bare steel. Overall disappointed and probably won't buy it again, which is a shame because I usually have good luck with the dupli-color products. might be better off getting one of the colour matched cans for what I want.

Looks like stainless. Hold can at least a foot away from what you are painting. Light coats work better. I put a satin clear over it to get a nice, smooth finish.

Q: Do you need a primer before using this paint on metal or brass?

A: If it was new metal, you should use a primer. Having said that, don’t buy this paint. I started a project and got one coat on, inverted the can and tried to clear the nozzle. The next morning the can wouldn’t spray. There have been numerous other complaints that the spray nozzle plugs up and that’s exactly what happened to me.

A: No. Sorry; you can't use it on actual stainless steel. Remember that this is only a paint that somewhat Mimics the stainless colour and it not food safe as far as I know.

Q: would this paint look ok to paint a white fridge to look like a stainless steel fridge?

A: The Dupli-Color Stainless Steel would not be a good option for a refrigerator. Typically an appliance epoxy would be more recommended for that type of substrate.
