Dyson V12 or G5 performs better, although build is flimsier

Nice machine with strong features including good build quality but performance not up to par with the Dyson cordless machines. You can search Youtube for a direct comparison. Problems with the Miele is that the bin capacity is small, removing it to clean is finicky, and hair gets trapped in the rollers. I ended up buying the new Dyson G5, which does a fantastic job of extracting fine dust from Persian carpets and has a great bare floor tool. It is very well designed with easy removal of dirt from the bin and rollers that pick up pet hair and send it to the bin without being trapped. Downsides are that some parts are flimsy and the unit itself is hard to maneuver when used as a handheld vacuum.

Battery does not last long!

We bought this about 8 months ago after being disappointed by our expensive Dyson’s trigger handle breaking and no repair solutions available. It does a decent job and is easy to convert into its different configurations abut I would not repurchase and cannot recommend. My apartment is 500sqft and it’s a race to get it done before the battery dies! Battery lasts maybe 20 minutes and then takes hours to charge. I know you can purchase extra batteries but for the price of this I don’t think you should have to. The collection barrel is also very small.

If you only clean around furniture, it is quicker and lighter work than a cylinder

Difficulty of removing dust container and cleaning dust container &dust filter. Much easier and quicker to vacuum open area of carpets. Not so easy under furniture,beds etc.

Unfortunately cordless vacuums do not replace your regular vacuum, they don’t have the suction strength, and I’m still trying to work out how to get to the nozzle attachment quickly. That said, this system is wonderful for several quick clean ups until the fortnightly clean. Eventually I will have one of these on each floor!
