half of it is useless

if you want the sockets, it's convenient. if you want to use ANY of the screw driver heads, you can't. the ratchet is 1/2" drive, the "socket" for the screwdriver bits is 1/4" drive and there's no adapter effectively making every single screw driver bit useless.

Q: Has this set been updated to include the 3/8" square drive to 1/4" hex adaptor yet? I can't seem to find the adaptor sold separately through Canadian Tire, and it's an oversight if it isn't included anyways.

A: 0589915 MAXIMUM 3/8-in to 1/4-in Drive Socket Adapter does not work for this application. It is a 3/8" square drive to 1/4" square drive adaptor, not the required 3/8" square drive to 1/4" hex bit holder. I purchased this kit today, and it looks like this issue has been rectified. The one I purchased came with the required 3/8" square drive to 1/4" hex bit holder.

Q: how does one use the 1/4" bits? the set does not come with an adapter 3/8 to 1/4

A: You have to buy a separate adapter. It was annoying and I did complain to the head office. They agreed that it was a problem, but couldn't/wouldn't do anything. I had purchased 2 sets for gifts and they had been priced at about 75% off, so I found adapters. It was still worth the aggravation, but still wasn't right.
